F A T Bingo
The following videos are small ‘tasters’ of ‘F A T Bingo’ part of ‘FAT’ an arts project that will be shown at Galeri caernarfon in summer 2026.
F A T is an examination of the lived experience of the artist as a creative, and more importantly, as a human being. It’s aim is to expand, educate, examine and reflect on the question of fatness (and disability), and how they relate to each other.
The Project Idea
FAT asks:
How do others see & treat fat people?
How does the medical profession see us & treat us?
Do fat men get an ‘easier’ time than fat women?
How do fat people ‘see’ other fat people?
WHY is it important?
There is a lot of bias against larger people, we’re invisible (no pun intended!) and heavily criticised as being out of control, lazy, and worthless. We’re stigmatised and face ‘microaggressions’ daily. I want to show a different point of view – a view that’s not often heard of what our lives truly are like – that we are human and have feelings. Obesity is a delicate subject and because of the project and will be unflinching and potentially upsetting but also filled with love and humour.
I wrote the script for ‘F A T Bingo’, then gathered an ensemble cast/crew (Roy Barry, Anke Jones, David Wallace Rogers and Bridget Drukker) who collaborated further on the script and I then found a location (The Tivoli in Buckley) – all othe collabs have given their time, expertise (and the venue -thank you Rokib) for free.
Filming began on 6th April 2024.
This will be around 6 -10 minutes in length and is comedic in approach but will present challenging views and ask difficult questions of the viewer. Film maker Dave Robinson (www.60mw.co.uk) is directing, filming and editing the piece.

All About Aildanio
Disability Arts Cymru (DAC) had an arts open in 2022, and the following films are a part of that journey. I was lucky to be a finalist in ‘Aildanio’ which saw one of my paintings ‘You’ll Be The Death of Me’ come second.
The first one was made for DAC by the lovely Pete Telfer from Culture Colony, here I talk about what inspires me as an artist.
The second, also made by Pete, I talk about what influenced me to paint ‘You’ll Be the Death of Me’, and what it’s like to be a disabled Artist.
